Photographer of the Week: Javier Vallhonrat

This weeks featured photographer is Javier Vallhonrat born in Madrid in 1953, I love his work, which has a distinct style of harshness and fragility that work together giving a wonderful effect and end product that is memorising.

He studied Painting at the Fine Arts Faculty of the University of Madrid in the early 70’s. Vallhonrat reached international recognition while contributing his photos to several fashion designers and for Condé Nast Publications.

Today, while continuing his contribution of photos for French Vogue, Italian Vogue, Japanese Vogue, Mixte, Big, among others, Javier also teaches creative photography in various universities in Spain.

Vallhonrat has done editorial work for Vogue UK, Vogue France, Vogue Italy, Vogue China, Vogue Japan, Vogue Germany, 10 Magazine, Pop, Numero, New York Times Magazine, View and Colours.

He has shot advertising campaigns for clients such as Ayura cosmetics. Azzaro perfume. Carte Noire. Chloé. Christian Lacroix. Coca-Cola. Comme des Garçons. Fructis hair. Halston & Borghese perfume. Jil Sander. John Galliano. Krizia. Lancôme. Neiman Marcus. Nescafé and many more.
