Paris Fashion Week: Oct 6th

French designer Jean-Charles de Castelbajac was just as playful as last season with his spring 2010 collection, filled with pirate's, hula girls, sharks and Disney characters.
I love the life he brings to the runway, every piece was so young and fun a perfect look for next spring/summer.
LOVE LOVE LOVE

I must say I'm really not inspired by Hannah MacGibbon's spring collection for Chloe, I think its the silhouettes of the masculine suits and strange ponchos, I just find them very unflattering and can't see how they would appeal for any women, but she definitely recovered from this towards the end of the collection, with the beautiful chiffon nude dresses, the last two look's were stunning, but overall its far from her best work for me.

Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli have really given the Valentino house a new perception of romanticism, after seeing their very different and beyond beautiful Couture collection this summer I was very excited to see what this pair would bring for this season, and I'm certainly not disappointed, wow every piece took my breath away. The incredible detailed work of the leather mixed with chiffon, was something I hadn't seen before and it worked so well, creating this whimsical sense of soft and hard combined as one, and without a single speck of red in sight it still didn't loose its Valentino romantic style.

"We wanted to tell a new fairy tale," Piccioli said backstage. "We're proud of the house heritage, but we wanted to give a personal point of view."

This has to be one of my favourite from the house of Valentino, I can't wait to see what Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli bring for us next season.

Tim Hamilton said he was influenced by the Catherine Deneuve movie The Hunger.
I thought the collections draped tailoring and body-conscious dresses were just stunning and of course the pants with fabric wings protruding from the pockets were awesome, I love seeing something different amoung a collection and Tim Hamilton did this in a really innovative way.
