The Teen Vogue Handbook: An Insider’s Guide to Careers in Fashion.

Teen Vogue is one of my favourite magazine's and about the only teen mag that anywhere interesting, it really focuses on fashion like vogue yet in a yong and more chick style way, its read world wide and is probably the best selling teen mag out there.
I'm super excited to say I just read that the people at Teen Vogue have created a book on careers in fashion, The Teen Vogue Handbook: An Insider’s Guide to Careers in Fashion.
Teen Vogue editor Amy Astley says, '“The book is a useful reference guide: how to build a portfolio, dress for an interview, and land an internship.”

The book is said to include:

· A Q&A with the king of cool, Marc Jacobs

· Words of wisdom from Karl Lagerfeld and Anna Wintour

· Profiles of contributing photographers

· A list of essential beauty products from industry pros

· Advice from stylists and model scouts

· Practical advice from models, assistants and interns

Who else is dying to hear what the 'practical advice' from models is?

Jean Paul Gaultier ad campaign Fall 2009

At first glance I didn't realise that Raquel Zimmermann was posing as both Man and Women in this Jean Paul Gaultier Fall ad campaign, I must say I am very impressed by her versitility, it really shows that she can model fantasticly, she always dilivers, no wonder she kept her spot as a number one model for so long. The photography by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin is incredible as always.

Model of the Week: Kinga Rajzak

Alexander McQueen Resort 2010

This is by far my favourite resort 2010 collection this year, it is by the incredible Alexander McQueen. The collection was inspired by the notion of an artist in his studio, with splatter effects, brushstroke and line-drawing prints, and a series of blue and white hand-painted pieces. The delicate lace as insect wings is just stunning, the detail is to die. Every piece has perfectly flattering shapes, I love it.

“Prime Time” Vogue Nippon September 2009

How stunning do models Iekeliene Stange, Julia Dunstall and Daul Kim look in the beauty editorial for Vogue Nippon September 2009, the make-up is just perfect by Lisa Butler and of course the Fall gowns are to die for. This seven page beauty supplement, “Prime Time” shot by François Nars is all round mesmerising. [via]

"A Summer Blend" Vogue Italia May 2009

I absolutely adore this Editorial "A Summer Blend" from the May 09 issue of Vogue Italia, shot by Richard Burbridge, staring model Suvi Koponen. Everything about it is just spot on, the colours, angles of lighting and Suvi's beautiful poses, they all work together creating a really stunning effect.

Runway Trend: Velvet

When I thought of Velvet being one of this Fall's main trends the first thing that came to my mind was "oh dear this could be a huge disaster" but I have been proven wrong and that if used in the right way velvet can look very beautiful. This season designers from Fendi to Marc Jacobs revitalised the fabrics with stunning glossy colours, clever splicing and innovative burn-out techniques. The most interesting of which I thought was Christopher Kane's organza shifts appliquéd with jewel coloured velvet ribbons, set in horizontal and vertical stripes, creating a new and very beautiful effect.

The real reason models love Chanel

Forget Chanel's monochrome palettes, classic silhouettes and iconic couture (for a moment at least). The real reason that models love the French fashion house is the huge spread they get backstage. Top model Freja Beha Erichsen, who Karl Lagerfeld personally picked to appear in the 2009 Chanel campaign, has revealed that she gets a ‘special feeling' from Chanel that she doesn't get anywhere else: ‘They're famous for their food backstage,' she told W magazine. ‘At most shows, they don't really feed us that much, but at Chanel there's a full buffet and everything is really good.'

Taylor Momsen for Teen Vogue September 2009

The September 2009 cover of Teen Vogue has been released, and Gossip Girl star Taylor Momsen is Septembers covergirl. The cover shot really isn't doing it for me, but I think her other shots look pretty good. Many people really don't like her and see her as being very stuck up, but I honestly don't get that vibe, I think she's just a normal teen trying to figure out her style and who she is.

extracts from her interview:

On relating to other teens: “I live a very adult life: I have two different careers; I’m on tour. What am I going to do, hang out with the high school kids? I just can’t relate to what they talk about—it seems so petty.

On high school: “I found it kind of boring. I’m an artist; I’m not going to use trigonometry.”

On Gossip Girl: “I love being on the show—I hope it goes on for a couple more years. But as for the future, I don’t know. I’m at a point now where I’m not doing anything just for money or fame.”

On her updated look: “I know people were a little, um, taken aback. But it wasn’t me that changed—it was just that I decided to start being myself. Now I do my own makeup, my own hair, and dress myself, and it feels better.”

On dating older guys: “I’m not going to date someone who’s sixteen. Boys are so much less mature than girls as it is; there’s just no way—I would eat a boy my age alive.”

Bellow are some behind the scene shots of her photoshoot and video, from

I love the Gucci look.
